Jeff Roulston is a proud Toronto native and son of Jamaican and Trinidadian parents. He is a graduate of historically-Black Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama, where he played varsity basketball and served as editor-in-chief of the school newspaper. He has since written part-time for print and online publications dedicated to music, sports, city life and the arts, self-published two chapbooks of poems, a collection of short stories and hosted the monthly open mic Haus Orpheus Presents: Speak Ya Truth while building a career working with so-called “at-risk” youth in Toronto’s inner city neighbourhoods. His first novel The Phenom, will be released in 2020.
